Recruiting Tips -- Visits
What about Visits?
For those desiring to play at the collegiate club level, there are no restrictions regarding how often or what takes place when you visit a collegiate institution.
For those considering playing at the varsity level, visits are classified in two categories: official and unofficial.
An official visit includes any
visit to a college campus by you that is paid for in some manner by
the college. This includes any of the following:
- Transportation
- Meals and lodging
- Entertainment
- Admission to a home athletic contest
Before you can go on an official
visit you need to…
- Give the college a copy of your high school transcript
- Provide the college with an SAT, ACT or PLAN score (if the college is Division I)
- Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center
An unofficial visit is one you
make to a college campus that is paid for by you or your parents.
When you are on this type of visit you may only receive three
complimentary admissions to a home athletics contest. You may make
as many unofficial visits as you like and may take those visits at
any time.
