All policies of the CWPA are determined by the member institutions through an annual legislative process.
The CWPA staff has no policy-making authority and may only implement the actions voted on by the membership.
Institutions submit proposals by May 5th. Proposals can be written to affect a gender, a class of membership (varsity or club), an individual division, or the conference as a whole.
Institutions review proposed legislation and vote using a mail ballot or in person at the annual meeting in early June. For division legislation, a quorum of 50% of the division must vote.
Institutions receive only one vote, regardless of the number of teams entered in the competition.
All elected positions are filled through this process.
