2008 Women's Collegiate Club All-America Team Released
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The Collegiate Water Polo Association has announced the 2008 Women's Collegiate Club All-America Team as 39 student-athletes garnered the highest annual honor in the CWPA.
California Polytechnic State University's Sarah Ur, the Most Valuable Player of the National Collegiate Club Championship for leading her team to the 2008 National Championship, earned Player of the Year honors.
The University of Oregon, Notre Dame University and California Polytechnic led the All-America teams with four honorees each.
Ur joined teammate Colleen Scheitrum on the first team for Cal Poly, while Roxanne Eastwood and goalie Jenny Austin grabbed third team and honorable mention accolades, respectively.
For Oregon, goalie Jessica Kragt and Courtney Ashford garnered first team honors, while Karen Peront and Beth Gordon received second and honorable mention accolades.
Bridget O'Neill collected first team honors for Notre Dame as the Fighting Irish placed goalie Betsy O'Neill on the second, Kelly Horner on the third and Christina Romano on the honorable mention teams.
