Fordham Announces Men's Class of 2012 Recruits

BRONX, N.Y. -- Fordham University water polo coach Bill Harris announced five new additions to the Fordham water polo squad as goalkeeper Christian Flessner (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North), driver Andrew McKernin (Riverside, Ill./Fenwick), driver Ian Pruitt (San Clemente, Calif./San Clemente), two-meter J.D. Shrewsbury (Town & Country, Mo./Desmet Jesuit) and driver Tim Simo (Placentia, Calif./Mater Dei) will continue their careers in the Bronx.

"These student-athletes will give us additional depth and team speed this fall and I am looking forward to all of them contributing to our program early on. They are coming from established programs and I believe they will adjust quickly to the college game," said Harris.

Flessner was a four-year varsity water polo player at Naperville North High School, serving as a team captain. A member of the All-Sectional team, he set school records for saves in a game, saves in a season, and fewest goals against in a single season.

A two-year captain at Desmet, he was a three-time All-State and All-Conference selection. He was selected as team MVP as a senior and holds the school record for most goals in a season.
