Western Division Championship Field Set; Michigan Earns No. 1 Seed
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The Western Division Championship seeding is now set as the University of Michigan will lead the division's eight teams into the championship on April 18-19 at Indiana University. Indiana University, Mercyhurst College, Gannon University, Grove City College, Washington & Jefferson College, Chatham University and Penn State Erie-The Behrend College follow with the No. 2 through 8 seeds as the top two teams from the Western Division Championship automatically earn bids to the 2009 Eastern Championship on April 24-26 at Harvard University.
No. 14-nationally ranked Michigan (7-0 CWPA West) will take on No. 8 seed PSU Erie-The Behrend College (0-8), while No. 2 seed and No. 19-ranked Indiana takes on No. 7 seed Chatham College. In other first round action, No. 3 seed Mercyhurst squares off with No. 6 Washington & Jefferson in addition to No. 4 Gannon meets No. 5 Grove City.
