Brown's Mike Gartner Earns 2008 All-Ivy Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Brown University's Mike Gartner (Sr., San Jose, Calif./Bellarmine) was one of 80 student-athletes named to the fall list of the 2008 All-Ivy honorees. A First Team All-East and All-North selection, he led the Bears in scoring this year with 63 goals.

One of 10 Brown student-athletes honored by the Ivy League, the five male and five female honorees were starters or key reserves on officially recognized varsity teams with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. 

An Applied Mathematics major, he earned the November 24 Northern Division Player of the Week award for averaging a hat-trick with nine goals in three games to lead the Bears to a fourth place finish at the Eastern Championship.  The award marked his fourth Player of the Week nod this year as he previously earned the award on September 15, September 29 and November 3.
