Gannon Set to Face Western Division Foes this Weekend

ERIE, Pa. -- The Gannon University women’s water polo team will play four matches this weekend with three contests at home in the Carneval Athletic Pavilion (CAP). The CWPA 10th-ranked Lady Knights will face Grove City College Friday, March 27, at 7:30 p.m. and then take on Washington & Jefferson Saturday, March 28, at 10 a.m. at home. On Sunday, March 29, GU hosts Utica College at 9 a.m. in non-conference action and then travels to Penn State Behrend for a noon contest.
GU (5-5, 1-0 CWPA) beat Chatham
March 21, 19-5. Annie Greenhill (Brea, Calif./Brea
Olinda) and Caitlin Andrews (Tustin,
Calif./Tustin) each scored four goals to lead the
Knights’ attack. Greenhill leads the team with 20 goals this
season.
Grove City (3-5, 1-2 CWPA) beat Colorado College 11-6 on March 12
before taking two weeks off from matches. The Wolverines will also
face Utica at the CAP at 4 p.m. Friday.
W&J (2-6, 1-3 CWPA) defeated Penn State Behrend 14-2 March 22.
The Presidents will play three matches Saturday. They face Gannon
and Utica at the CAP and then travel to Grove City to face the
Wolverines Saturday evening.
Utica (0-5) will be looking for their first victory of the season.
The Pioneers lost twice to Gannon in 2008, at the Siena
Invitational and the Snowy Seven Tournament.
