2010 Triton Invitational Schedule
LA JOLLA, CALIF. -- No. 13 Hartwick College, No. 16 Indiana University and No. 20 University of Maryland will head west this weekend to escape the impending snow in the Mid-Atlantic and take part in the Triton Invitational at the University of California-San Diego on February 6-7.
The three teams will not compete in the same bracket to open the tournament as Hartwick (Bracket D), Maryland (Bracket C) and Indiana (Bracket B) will each take on a series of West Coast opponents.
Hartwick, which will open the season this weekend, will square off with unranked and host UC-San Diego at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 6. A victory/loss in the game advances the Hawks to face the victor/loser of an opening round game between No. 12 California State University-Northridge and unranked Marist College.
Indiana, which started its 2010 season two weeks ago at the University of Michigan Kick-Off Tournament, will face No. 14 ranked University of California-Santa Barbara at noon on February 6 before taking on either the winner/loser of a first round game between No. 11 University of California-Irvine and No. 17 California Baptist University.
Maryland, which joins Hartwick in opening its season this weekend, will face No. 15 University of California-Davis at 9:20 a.m. on February 6 before meeting either No. 10 Loyola Marymount University or unranked Sonoma State University in the next round on Saturday.
On Sunday, games continue as the Hawks, Hoosiers and Terrapins will compete in the placement games against the teams from their divisions and the squads from Bracket A of No. 8 San Diego State University, No. 18 California State University-Bakersfield, Division III No. 3 ranked University of Redlands and unranked Long Beach State University.
