Gannon Lances Cal Tech 17-3 to Wrap-Up West Coast Swing

PASADENA, Calif.
-- The Gannon University women's water polo team defeated
the California Institute of Technology by a 17-3 final score.
Caitlin Andrews (Tustin, Calif./Tustin) led the
Lady Knights with four goals.
GU (2-10) came out hot, scoring seven times in the opening
quarter. The Knights led 8-2 at halftime before adding five more
goals in the third period. Gannon outscored Cal Tech 4-0 in
the fourth period to create the final margin.
Andrews scored four times to lead the attack, while Sarah
Anderson (Erie, Pa./McDowell), Lauren Myrick
(Erie, Pa./McDowell) and Kelly Steininger (Vernon
Hills, Ill./Vernon Hills)Stephanie Komorek (Erie,
Pa./McDowell) each posted three goals in the win.
scored two goals and Laurel Martinez (Pittsburgh,
Pa./Keystone Oaks) and Annie Greenhill (Brea,
Calif./Brea Olinda) both contributed one goal.
Libbie Guina (Houston, Texas/Clear Brook) recorded
six saves in net to pick up the victory.
Gannon ended its California trip 2-3 and will next travel to Ann
Arbor, Michigan, March 12. The Knights face the University of
Michigan and then play in the Michigan Invitational on March 13-14.
