Michigan's Leah Robertson Earns April 19 Women's Varsity Western Division Player of the Week Award

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Senior Leah Robertson (Newport Beach, Calif./Newport Harbor) led the No. 7-ranked University of Michigan Wolverines to victories over George Washington University (12-6 W) and the University of Maryland (9-3 W, 11-7 W) to earn the April 19 Women's Varsity Western Division Player of the Week award.

The January 25, February 22 and April 5 Western Division Player of the Week, her selection marks the ninth time Robertson has been honored by the Collegiate Water Polo Association as the division's Player of the Week.

She tallied two goals, an assist, three steals and two kickouts drawn in a 9-3 victory at Maryland, before adding a goal and a steal in a 12-6 win at George Washington.  Robertson wrapped up the Wolverines' Washington Metro area invasion with five goals, an assist, five steals, two kickouts drawn and a five-meter penalty draw in an 11-7 win over Maryland in second of two meetings between the programs in less than a day.

For her career, Robertson now has 145 goals and 116 assists for 261 points in 130 games, including 31 goals and 13 assists for 44 points this season in 17 games.

On the career records list at Michigan, she now stands fourth in goals (145), assists (116) and points (261).  Overall, she is on the doorstep of moving up the list as she stands one goal behind Sheetal Narsai '05 (146) for third in goals, two assists behind Julie Hyrne '09 and Narsai (118) for second in assists and four points shy of Narsai and third place in points (265).
