• Bucknell's Canonica & Rozas Named ACWPC All-America Honorable Mention

    For the second straight year the Bucknell University women’s water polo program has a pair of All-America selections. Kandis Canonica and Valentina Rozas both earned Honorable Mention All-America honors from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches. It is the third straight year Rozas was named Honorable Mention All-America, while it is Canonica’s first career citation.

    Phoebe Champion, a recent graduate of the Princeton University women's water polo team, was named an Honorable Mention All-America by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches following her senior season at Princeton. The nod was the second of her career as she also garnered honorable mention status for the 2008 season.

Hudson, a three-time honorable mention pick and third-team pick this season, is joined by junior Jessica McKee, who is an honorable mention choice for the second straight year.
  • Washington & Jefferson College Announces 2010 Men's Water Polo Schedule

    Washington & Jefferson College recently announced the Presidents' 2010 men's water polo schedule of games. Beginning on September 10 at home against Mercyhurst College and concluding the regular season on October 17 at Salem International University, the Presidents will seek to capture the Division III Eastern title and advance to the CWPA Eastern Championship.

    The Fordham University Department of Athletics recently released the Rams 2010 men's water polo schedule of games. The Rams will seek to make their second consecutive appearance in the CWPA Eastern Championship field after placing fifth in 2009. Starting on September 4-5 at the Navy Open hosted by the United States Naval Academy, the Rams will face their fellow "Elite of the East" on a consistent basis.

    The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) honored three Grove City College women's water polo players for their respective performances during the 2010 season. The ACWPC selected freshman goalkeeper Amanda Johnston as a Division III Second Team All-America pick, while seniors Kate Stiebler and Amanda Thompson picked up honorable mention honors.

    Sophomore Jakie Kohli of the Indiana University women’s water polo team earned honorable mention All-America status, announced on Thursday by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches. She set the single-season Indiana scoring record during the 2010 season with 80 goals, while also leading the team with 72 steals.

  • NCAA Women's Water Polo Committee Proposes Change to Championship Bid Process

    The NCAA Women’s Water Polo Committee is recommending a change to the automatic bid process for the National Collegiate Women’s Water Polo Championship to accommodate changes in conference sponsorship. The committee at its recent annual meeting decided to recommend the awarding of an automatic championship bid to the Big West Conference beginning with the 2011 championship.

Comprised of the United States Naval Academy, Princeton University, George Washington University, Bucknell University and Johns Hopkins University, the Southern -East has produced six of the past seven CWPA Eastern Champions.

Beginning at home and concluding at either MIT or Bucknell University, the schedule of games includes hosting the Division III Eastern Championship.

Anderson will begin preparing the team for the 2011 World University Games which will take place on August 12-23, 2011 in Shenzhen, China.

    Among the best water polo players and swimmers in Bison history, Jeff Hilk '86 will be among six individuals inducted into the Bucknell University Athletics Hall of Fame during the university's Homecoming Weekend on Saturday, October 30. He posted 334 goals and 460 points in his career, totals that still rank second at Bucknell.

    Bucknell, Princeton, St. Francis (N.Y.), Johns Hopkins, Brown, Fordham, MIT, Iona, George Washington, Harvard, Mercyhurst and Washington & Jefferson are the 12 teams selected to compete in the 2010 ECAC Men’s Water Polo Championship on Friday-Sunday, September 17-19 at Blodgett Pool on the campus of Harvard University. Bucknell earned the No. 1 seed for the championship and will seek the program's first ECAC men's water polo championship.
