Collegiate Water Polo Association Releases Updated 2012 Men's Collegiate Club Southeast Division Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases an updated 2012 Men's National Collegiate Club Southeast Division schedule.

One of the smallest divisions with Auburn University, Clemson University, Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech), University of Georgia, University of Tennessee and Vanderbilt University, the Southeast spans three states (Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee) and features 28 regular season contests divided between two tournaments to set the field for the championship.

Action begins on Saturday-Sunday, September 29-30 at Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn. as the seven teams clash in early season competition.  Two weeks later the squads will converge on Athens, Ga. and the campus of Georgia for another 14-game tournament on Saturday-Sunday, October 13-14 for the second and final regular season tournament.

The pair of regular season tournaments will establish the seeds for the 11-game Southeast Division Championship on Saturday-Sunday, October 27-28 at Emory in Atlanta, Ga. as the victor will claim an automatic berth to the National Collegiate Club Championship set for November 9-11 at the Osborn Aquatic Center in Corvallis, Ore.

The change in the schedule occurs on the first day of the Southeast Division Championship as games will now begin at 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, October 27.

Georgia Tech has been the dominant force in the division with six titles (2011, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2003, 2002), while Georgia (2010) holds one championship since Southeast play began in 2000.  The other five crowns are all held by former division members with current and past Florida Division members the University of Florida (2001, 2000) and Florida International University (2006, 2005, 2004) combining to complete the Southeast's history.
