Matt Kittle Named Notre Dame College (Ohio) Head Coach for 2011-12 Academic Year
SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Ohio University standout Matt Kittle will serve as head coach of the Notre Dame College (Ohio) Falcons during the 2011-12 season.
Kittle will guide the Falcons men's and women's water polo squads during the Falcons inaugural year in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) while head coach Brad Silver is out of the country.
He joined the Notre Dame coaching
staff in the spring of 2011, bringing over 14 years of swimming and
water polo experience to College Road.
Throughout his career, the Shaker Heights, Ohio, native has
coached age-group through master-level programs and club teams
at two universities (Ohio University and University of
Akron).
Kittle holds three degrees from
Ohio University, where he was player-coach and president of the OU
Men's Water Polo Club team. The second varsity head coach in
the CWPA from the Ohio U. club program, joining Washington &
Jefferson College head coach Greg Jones, Kittle
led the Bobcats to national Top 20 rankings in two separate
seasons. In addition, he was instrumental in Ohio hosting and
finishing 13th in the 16-team field at the 2008 National Collegiate
Club Championship tournament.
At various levels, Kittle has developed a number of zone champions
and top-16 qualifiers as well as 13 All-America swimmers and
student-athlete award winners. He also assisted in
the development of the Cleveland Water Polo Club in 2004.
Away from the pool deck, Kittle works in the growth, development
and marketing of TeamWork Online, a sports-industry recruiting
system.
