MIT to Host 2011 Men's Northern Division Schedule on November 5-6
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The Massachusetts Institute of Technology will host the 2011 Men's Northern Division Schedule on November 5-6 in Cambridge, Mass. to decide the four teams that qualify for the 2011 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Eastern Championship.
One of two varsity division championships in the CWPA joining the Southern Division Championship, the event will decide which three programs among Iona College, Fordham University, Brown University, Connecticut College, MIT and Harvard University join Northern Division regular season champion and No. 1 seed St. Francis College (N.Y.) in earning a spot in the Eastern Championship field set for November 18-20 at Harvard.
St. Francis, which rolled to a perfect division mark during the regular season, is guaranteed a spot in the championship as the Terriers can not appear in a game lower than the third place contest in the Northern Division tournament.
Brown enters the championship with the No. 2 seed, while MIT, Iona, Fordham, Harvard and Connecticut round out the seven-team, 10-game championship.
