Fordham University Concludes Season with 11-7 Loss to MIT in Northern Division Fifth Place Game

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Fordham University water polo team wrapped up play at the 2011 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Northern Division Championship on by falling to host the Massachusetts Institute of Technology via an 11-7 final score. The loss ends Fordham's season at 8-21 overall.

The Rams trailed 3-0 before netting a pair of markers to close within, 3-2 by the end of the first quarter.

After each squad scored twice in the second quarter, MIT took advantage of a depleted Fordham bench, extending the lead to 10-6 by the end of the third quarter.

Each team scored once in the final period for the 11-7 final score.

For Fordham, Josh Itano netted his first three-goal game of the season, while Andrew McKernin, Nicholas Allen, Jake Bakas, and Robert Fleming each scored once. Noah LeBeau made nine saves in net for the Rams.
