Harvard University's Alexandre Popp Named November 21 Northern Division Defensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Harvard University's Alexandre Popp (Sr., Palo Alto, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) made 20 saves in helping the Crimson finish seventh at home during the 2011 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Eastern Championship at Blodgett Pool to garner the November 21 Men's Varsity Northern Division Defensive Player of the Week award.

He started the weekend with five saves in a 20-5 loss to then No. 15-ranked the United States Naval Academy before notching five saves in a 13-10 loss in overtime to Bucknell University to advance to the seventh place game.

Versus Iona College in the placement game, he recorded 10 blocks as the Crimson picked up a 13-10 victory.
