Harvard University's Kevin DiSilvestro Named to Fall 2011 Academic All-Ivy Team

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Ivy League released its list of 80 student-athletes selected for 2011-12 Academic All-Ivy honors in its fall sports with Harvard University's Kevin DiSilvestro (Sr., Philadelphia, Pa./Episcopal Academy) among 10 Crimson and four Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) student-athletes recognized by the organization.

The 80 men and women selected to the Academic All-Ivy team were starters or key reserves on an officially recognized varsity team with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.  Each institution nominated five men and women from its eligible student-athletes.

One of two Harvard water polo players named to the team joining goalie Alexandre Popp (Sr., Palo Alto, Calif./Menlo-Atherton), DiSilvestro, an economics major and three-time CWPA Scholar-Athlete selection (2008, 2009, 2010), finished third on the team in goals (30), while contributing 17 assists and 20 steals in helping the Crimson place fourth in the Northern Division and seventh at the 2011 CWPA Eastern Championship at home in Blodgett Pool.

He is joined on the Academic All-Ivy Team by two other CWPA student-athletes as Mike Helou (Sr., Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall College) of Princeton University and Svetozar Stefanovic (Jr., Belgrade, Serbia/Russian Embassy) of Brown University were also recognized.
