BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Dr. Donnica Moore is used to being an innovator and a leader in her field. A member of the first women’s water polo team at Princeton University, the 1981 graduate is an expert in women’s health and has appeared over 800 times on U.S. television shows such as The Dr. Oz Show; The Today Show; CNN; the Oprah Winfrey Show; the Tyra Banks Show; The View; The Anderson Cooper Show; and Good Morning America Health.

In 2007 Moore gained attention for teaching TV host/model Tyra Banks to breast feed on Banks’ television talk show with the footage accumulating over two million views on YouTube.  Further, her book, Women’s Health for Life, is a popular resource on women’s health as she is recognized as one of the industry leaders in her field of medicine.

After growing up in Brooklyn, New York, Moore entered Princeton University at age 16, graduating in 1981. She attended the University College of Dublin School of Medicine as a Rotary International Graduate Fellow before receiving her M.D. from SUNY Buffalo in 1986.

Moore completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Temple University, with an additional year in family medicine at Memorial Hospital of Burlington County, New Jersey. According to a 2003 profile in Women in Medicine, she did not complete her training because after undergoing a spinal surgery, her surgeon recommended she not continue a physically demanding medical practice.

After leaving her residency, Moore became Medical Director for Sandoz pharmaceuticals.  She established Sapphire Women’s Health Group in 1997, launch a nationally syndicated radio segment called “Dr. Donnica’s Women’s Health Report” in 2000; and launched the award-winning women’s health information website www.DrDonnica.com in 2000. She is currently the host of the podcast “In The Ladies’ Room with Dr. Donnica”.

Moore has been a medical advisor or medical advisory board member to several companies including DuPont; Helm Pharmaceuticals; SPD; JoyLux; and Exxclaim Capital.

She is co-editor of the popular women’s health book Women’s Health for Life, and was listed as a peer reviewer for the Journal of the American Medical Women’s Association in 1994 and as an editorial board member in 1997.[25]

A member of the advisory board of cancerandcareers.org, Moore is on the Board of Directors of the Society for Women’s Health Research and serves on the Medical Advisory Board of The Dr. Oz Show – a program hosted by former Harvard University water polo player Dr. Mehmet Oz.

A member of the HealthCare Business Women’s Association, Dr. Moore served as a Women’s Health Contributor for NBC’s Later Today Show (1999–2000) with additional appearances on the Today Show, Weekend Today Show, CNN, The Oprah Winfrey Show, The View, Good Morning America, The Doctors’ Channel, Good Morning America Health and The Steve Harvey Show.

She has also been the spokesdoctor for several national health education campaigns including: Life Supplemented Campaign; the Choose Your Move Campaign for RLS; Crest Enamel Health; Shingles Awareness; and the ClearBlue Advanced Ovulation Test Launch.

Moore was a frequent guest on the popular radio show “Walking on Air with Betsy & Sal” in a segment called “Weekly Check-Up With Dr. Donnica,” Moore is also a frequent speaker on career development and achievement.

On November 16, 2007, Moore was one of twelve recipients of the Women in Government Presidential Leadership Award for her efforts to promote cervical cancer prevention. Honored as one of the Top 25 Leading Women Entrepreneurs in 2017, she previously received the Princeton University Award for Excellence in Alumni Education in 2013.
