BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — A total of 388 student-athletes earned recognition on the 2018 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Men’s All-Academic Team.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete’s head coach must be a member of the ACWPC, while the athlete must attain a grade point average in excess of 3.20. Divided into three teams based on cumulative grade point average (GPA), 111 athletes garnered Outstanding (4.00-3.71), 162 Superior (3.70-3.41) and 115 Excellent (3.40-3.20) recognition from 45 teams.

Further, a total of 24 schools posted Team Honors for achieving GPAs over 3.0.  Salem University (3.74) leads the way for the fourth time in as many years, with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (3.73), Brown University (3.56), the California Institute of Technology (3.55), Wagner College (3.55), Harvard University (3.38), St. Francis College Brooklyn (3.38), Johns Hopkins University (3.37), Stanford University (3.35), Chapman University (3.28), Iona College (3.27), Fordham University (3.25), Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (3.25), San Jose State University (3.21), California Baptist University (3.18), the University of California (3.17), the University of California-Los Angeles (3.15), California Lutheran University (3.10), Princeton University (3.10), the University of the Pacific (3.10), the University of Redlands (3.09), Gannon University (3.07), Santa Clara University (3.04) and Occidental College (3.03) also exceeding the 3.0 mark.
