2023 Harvard University Women’s Water Polo Schedule

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. Harvard University women’s water polo released its 2023 schedule as the Crimson look to build on a successful 2022 season. Harvard will travel across the country as part of its 30-game season with the Crimson heading on trips to Indiana, California, Arizona, and Michigan in addition to its regular Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) league schedule. The Crimson will play 13 games at Blodgett Pool this season. 

To open the season the Crimson travels to Bloomington, Indiana for the Indiana University Invitational where the team will play four games over the weekend of Saturday-Sunday, January 28-29. To open the season Harvard faces off against California State University East Bay and Indiana on January 28, before matchups with Villanova University and McKendree University on January 29 to close on its time in Indiana.

To open the season at Blodgett Pool, the program will host part of the Bruno Classic over another four-game weekend on Saturday-Sunday, February 4-5. Kicking off the tournament on Saturday, February 4, the Crimson will host Marist College and La Salle University before playing Pomona-Pitzer Colleges and Long Island University on Sunday, February 5, to close out the first homestand of the season.

The Crimson then open its 2022 CWPA schedule at the Princeton Invitational with a matchup against Princeton University before closing the Saturday doubleheader with Iona College on February 25.

As part of a five-game weekend to start the month of March, the Crimson will host the Harvard Invitational on Saturday-Sunday, March 4-5. Opening the weekend with a CWPA regular season matchup against Brown University on Friday, March 3, the Crimson will commence the Harvard Invite with Wagner College and the University of the Redlands on Saturday, March 4, before facing off against California State University Northridge and a rematch with La Salle to wrap up the tournament weekend at Blodgett Pool.

Harvard travels to Arizona for the Arizona State University Invitational on Saturday-Sunday, March 11-12. The Crimson will face off against the host Sun Devils, Marist and Salem University before heading to California for another three games prior to returning to the East Coast.

In the program’s only trip to California this season, Harvard will play the University of California on Wednesday, March 15 before a doubleheader in Santa Clara that will see the Crimson play the University of the Pacific and Santa Clara University on Saturay, March 18, before returning home.

For the first time in 27 days, the Crimson returns to Blodgett Pool for a four-game weekend. Opening the weekend with defending CWPA Champion the University Michigan and Bucknell University on Saturday, April 1, the team will face Saint Francis University and Princeton on Sunday, April 2.

Harvard will then travel to Ann Arbor, Mich., for a CWPA league weekend featuring four games. The Crimson open the trip with Bucknell University and Saint Francis on Saturday, April 15, before finishing the trip with another tilt with Michigan on Sunday, April 16, in a rematch of the 2022 CWPA Championship game.

In the final regular season game of the season, Harvard will travel to Brown on Saturday, April 22 as the final test before CWPA Championship at Princeton on Friday-Sunday, April 28-30.

History should be made this year as head coach Ted Minnis is looking for his 200th women’s water polo career win this season as he currently stands at 199 total wins.
