BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The University of Southern California remains the No. 1 team in the country as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the Week 11/November 14 Men’s Varsity National Top 20, Division III Top 10, Northeast Water Polo Conference (NEWPC) Top Five and Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Top Five Polls for the 2018 season.

Pomona-Pitzer Colleges remains at No. 1 in the Division III Poll, while Bucknell University remains a lock in the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Top Five.  Harvard University stays at No. 1 in the Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Top Five.

Voted on by a panel of coaches from the MAWPC, NEWPC, Golden Coast Conference, Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), SCIAC and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the polls will be compiled and released on Wednesday during each week of the season through the week following the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship.

2018 Men’s Varsity National Top 20 (Week 11/November 14)

The University of Southern California remains the No. 1 selection in the 2018 Week 11/November 14 National Men’s Varsity Top 20 Poll.

USC (100 points) is out in front of a National Top 20 poll which experiences movement from No. 7 to No. 20.

Positions No. 1-to-6 remain steady as USC, the University of California-Los Angles (95 points), Stanford University (90 points), the University of California (85 points), the University of California-Santa Barbara (79 points) and Long Beach State University (73 points) remain steady following the final weekend of regular season action.

The first chance comes at No. 7 as Pepperdine University (70 points) moves up one position to No. 7.  The University of California-Davis (65 points) jumps two spots to No. 8, while the University of the Pacific (62 points) and the University of California-San Diego (58 points) back up to No. 9 and 10, respectively.

California Baptist University (47 points) rises three positions to No. 11 with Harvard University (43 points) and Loyola Marymount University (42 points) sticking at No. 12 and 13 for another week.

The University of California-Irvine (38 points) slips to No. 14, Bucknell University (27 points) holds at No. 15, Brown University (20 points) moves up to No. 16, while Santa Clara University (17 points) and Princeton University (16 points) drop to No. 17 and 18.

San Jose State University (13 points) and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (7 points) once again wrap-up the Top 20 as the duo retain their previous spots at No. 19 and 20.

2018 Men’s Varsity Division III Top 10 (Week 11/November 14)

Pomona-Pitzer Colleges retains the No. 1 position in the Week 11/November 14 Men’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll.

Pomona-Pitzer (100 points) leads a Top 10 which experiences minor changes in the final three positions.

Whittier College (95 points), Chapman University (88 points), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (83 points), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (82 points), the University of Redlands (75 points) and California Lutheran University (71 points) remain locks at No. 2-to-7, respectively, behind the Sagehens.

Occidental College (59 points) moves up to No. 8 with the University of La Verne (56 points) holding at No. 9 and Johns Hopkins University (53 points) dropping to No. 10.

2018 Men’s Varsity Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Top 5 (Week 11/November 14)

Bucknell University remains the top team in the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) as the Bison are again a unanimous No. 1 selection in the Week 11/November 14 MAWPC Top Five Poll.

The 2016 MAWPC Champion, Bucknell (100 points) leads a Top Five which experiences major changes at No. 3-to-5 leading into this weekend’s MAWPC Championship at Fordham University on Friday-Sunday, November 16-18.

Behind the Bison, George Washington University (95 points) remains at No. 2, while Wagner College (89 points) and the United States Naval Academy (84 points) exchange the No. 3 and 4 positions.

Fordham (35 points) acquire sole possession of the No. 5 spot after tying with MAWPC-Western Division Champion McKendree University (16 points) for the final position last week.

The MAWPC features 14 teams as Bucknell, George Washington, Wagner, Johns Hopkins, Navy, Fordham and La Salle University make-up the Eastern Region, with Gannon University, Mercyhurst University, Monmouth College, Salem University, Washington & Jefferson College, Connecticut College and McKendree competing in the Western Region.

2018 Men’s Varsity Northeast Water Polo Conference Top 5 (Week 11/November 14)

2016 and 2017 Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Champion Harvard University retains the No. 1 position in the Week 11/November 14 NWPC Top Five Poll.

Harvard (100 points), which is again a unanimous top pick, is followed by the Terriers of St. Francis College Brooklyn (93 points).

Princeton University (91 points), Brown University (85 points) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (80 points) once again hold the final positions in the NWPC Top Five.
