BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2025 Men’s Collegiate Club Top 20 and Division III Top 10 Week 4/October 9 Polls.

Released each week during the season, the Top 20 and Division III Top 10 polls have no bearing on qualifiers for the National Collegiate Club Championship.

2025 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 (Week 4/October 9)

Defending National Champion the University of California-San Diego takes over at No. 1 in the 2025 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 Week 4/October 9 Poll.

UC-San Diego (97 points) – which ranked at No. 3 last week – moves in front of previously top-ranked California Polytechnic State University (96 points) and the University of California (92 points) to ascend to the lead position in the Top 20.  Cal Poly and California slip back to No. 2 and 3, respectively, with California Maritime Academy (74 points), the University of California-Santa Barbara (71 points), the University of California-Los Angeles (70 points), San Diego State University (69 points), the University of Florida (63 points), previously unranked the University of Southern California (47 points) and Cornell University (45 points) rounding out the Top 10.

The University of California-Davis (43 points), the University of Notre Dame (42 points) and the University of Texas (37 points) settle at No. 11-to-13, respectively, with the duos of Texas A&M University (35 points) and Michigan State University (35 points) along with the University of Virginia (22 points) and Purdue University (22 points) slotting in at No. 14 and 16.

The University of Michigan (20 points), Pennsylvania State University (15 points) and the University of Utah (12 points) conclude the Top 20 during a week in which 29 teams received one or more votes.

2025 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 (Week 4/October 9)

The University of California-Santa Cruz regains company at No. 1 as the Banana Slugs – which were tied with the United States Coast Guard Academy for the top spot two weeks ago – are deadlocked with New York University (96 points) for the pole position in the Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 Week 4/October 9 Poll.

UC-Santa Cruz (96 points) and previously No. 7 NYU (96 points) lead a Top 10 in which the Banana Slugs, Middlebury College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute are the lone teams to retain their rankings from the Week 3/October 2 voting.

Middlebury (88 points) remains at No. 3 with Augustana College (86 points) jumping up to No. 4.

Coast Guard (76 points) sinks back to No. 5, Bowdoin College (74 points) takes over at No. 6 and RPI (68 points) stays at No. 7. 

Grinnell College (67 points), previously unranked Macalester College (66 points) and Tufts University (36 points) complete the Top 10.
