BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2025 Week 6/February 26 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.

Stanford University breaks a tie with the University of Southern California following a 10-6 defeat of the Trojans to assume sole custody of the top position in the National Top 25, while Pomona-Pitzer Colleges remains at No. 1 in the Division III Top 10 voting.

Harvard University remains at No. 1 in the CWPA Division I Top Five, while Augustana College continues to reign in the CWPA Division III Top Five.

Voted on by a panel of coaches from around the country based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls will be compiled and released on Wednesday during the season starting the Wednesday following the first regular season contest.

2025 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 6)

Stanford University stands as the undisputed top team in the nation as the Cardinal lead the Week 6/February 26 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.

Stanford (100 points) – which shatters a tie with the University of Southern California at No. 1 from last week – receives all the first place votes to rate as a unanimous top selection following a 10-6 dispatching of the Trojans over the weekend.  USC (96 points) drops back to No. 2 with the University of Hawaii (92 points) climbing to No. 3 on the strength of a 12-11 defeat of the University of California and an 8-5 victory over the University of California-Los Angeles.

UCLA (86 points) and California (85 points) fall to No. 4 and 5 with Fresno State (79 points) advancing to No. 6.  Long Beach State University (74 points) improves to No. 7, while the pair of Harvard University (69 points) and the University of California-San Diego (69 points) storm up the rankings to tie at No. 8.

The University of California-Irvine (65 points) falls off its prior pace by coming to rest at No. 10.

Arizona State University (62 points) and Loyola Marymount University (56 points) move to No. 11 and 12, respectively, while the University of California-Davis (49 points) and Princeton University (49 points) rate in a tie at No. 13.

Indiana University (44 points), Wagner College (40 points), the University of Michigan (33 points), San Jose State University (32 points), the University of California-Santa Barbara (28 points), San Diego State University (23 points), Marist College (22 points), California Baptist University (16 points) and Villanova University (7 points) realign at No. 15-to-23 with Brown University (6 points) and University of the Pacific (6 points) concluding the Week 6 Top 25 via a tie at No. 24.

2025 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 (Week 6)

Pomona-Pitzer Colleges stays at No. 1 in the Week 6/February 26 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll.

Pomona-Pitzer (100 points) and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (95 points) retain their previous No. 1 and 2 ratings, while Chapman University (88 points) and California Lutheran University (87 points) exchange the No. 3 and 4 positions.

The University of La Verne (78 points), Augustana College (74 points), Macalester College (70 points), Occidental College (66 points) and Austin College (61 points) remain at No. 5-to-9.

Washington & Jefferson College (34 points) finishes out the Top 10 as the Presidents break into the rankings by acquiring the final position.

2025 Women’s Varsity Collegiate Water Polo Association Top 5 (Week 6)

Following a 14-3 victory over previously co-top billed the University of Michigan  during a 3-0 league home stand in Cambridge, Mass., Harvard University becomes a unanimous No. 1 pick in the Week 6/February 26 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Top Five Poll.

Harvard (100 points) – which held a 98-to-94 over the Wolverines last week seven days after the Crimson shared the lead position with the Maize & Blue – expands its margin to five points against new runner-up/2000, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2023 and 2024 league champion Princeton University (95 points).

2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 league champion Michigan (89 points) slips to No. 3 with  Brown University (86 points) and Bucknell University (80 points) remaining at No. 4 and 5.

2025 Women’s Varsity Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Top 5 (Week 6)

2023 and 2024 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Champion Augustana College continues as the top-ranked program in the Week 6/February 26 CWPA Division III Top Five Poll.

The Vikings (100 points) – who return to rating as a unanimous top selection after garnering 99 points last week – enlarge their lead over 2017, 2018 and 2019 CWPA Division III Champion Macalester College (94 points) from three points (99-to-96) to six (100-to-94) after holding a seven-point margin (100-to-93) three weeks back.

2021 and 2022 CWPA Division III Champion Austin College (91 points) and Washington & Jefferson College (84 points) hang on at No. 3 and 4 with Grove City College (48 points) taking over at No. 5.
