2021 Division II Eastern Championship Schedule
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — McKendree University will hold the No. 1 seed for the upcoming 2021 Division II Eastern Championship on Saturday-Sunday, October 23-24, hosted by Mercyhurst Uniersity at the David M. Hallman III Aquatics Center in Erie, Pa.
Seeded based on a vote of the four participating institutions’ head coaches, the Bearcats hold the No. 1 position in the field followed by Gannon University, Salem University and the host Lakers.
Competition begins on Saturday, October 23, as the McKendree and Gannon play at 4:30 p.m. prior to Salem-vs,- Mercyhurst (5:40 p.m.), McKendree-vs.-Salem (7:40 p.m.) and Gannon-vs.-Mercyhurst (8:50 p.m.) clashing.
Round robin competition concludes on the morning of Sunday, October 24, as Gannon-vs.-Salem (9:00 a.m.) and McKendree-vs.-Mercyhurst (10:30 a.m.) occur to set the Third (1:00 p.m.) and Championship (2:30 p.m.) game pairings.
The 2021 event marks the 17th Division II Eastern Championship hosted by the CWPA as Queens College (2003, 2010), Salem (2004), Slippery Rock University (2005), Mercyhurst (2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016) and Gannon (2014, 2017, 2018, 2019) have previously taken the title. The 2020 event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
