BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The CWPA Remote club interview series continues as Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Director of Communications Ed Haas talks with University of California-Santa Barbara alumnus/FanSided video producer Hunter Armor about his time competing for the Gauchos and his post-collegiate work in multimedia.

A 2011 graduate of UC-Barbara with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Film & Media Studies and History following two years at Cabrillo College, Armor competed on the school’s club water polo team and worked as a gaffer/grip on short film crews.  During his time as a Gaucho, he helped the team advance to the 2010 Pacific Coast Division title game.  UC-Santa Barbara dropped the title tilt to the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) by a 6-5 score as the Bruins went on to defeat the University of Texas by a 12-8 score in the Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship title game.

A native of Santa Cruz, Calif, he returned to Northern California following graduation by accepting a position at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif., as an Associate Video Producer in the Department of Athletics.  He worked in all aspects of video production from August 2012-to-June 2014 prior to being promoted to Director of Video Services.

From June 2014-to-May 2016, Armor managed a team of individuals responsible for the creation of video content highlighting Stanford athletics.

He left to take over the head men’s water polo coaching position at Cabrillo College, while also creating his own production house, HuntArmor Productions.

After serving as head coach at Cabrillo from August 2016-to-November 2017, he headed East to become a Video Producer at FanSided in Chicago, Ill.  At FanSided, he manages the video department and staff to create content for YouTube, Facebook, Facebook Live, Twitter, Periscope, Instagram, and FanSided.com.   The produced content ranges from short social media GIFs, repurposed viral videos, long-form high production pieces, interviews with athletes and high profile celebrities and on location reporting and documentation.  As part of the position, he works closely with the company’s editorial and social media teams in finding the best ways to engage their audience via the main FanSided accounts and through our 300+ team and show specific pages.
