BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — A quartet of newcomers will join the the Gannon University men’s water polo team for the 2022 season.

The Golden Knights, coached by Shane Unger, won their fourth consecutive Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division II championship in 2021 and claimed their second title in three years at the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC)-West Region Championship. Gannon also claimed its inaugural victory at the MAWPC Championship on the way to a program-best sixth place in the tourney.


Sebastian Gallo (Fr., Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley)

High School: Member of varsity water polo (three years) and varsity swimming (four years) teams… named team captain of water polo in senior year… swim team qualified for districts in senior year.

Personal: Majoring in Mechanical Engineering… son of Annie and Joe Gallo.


Alexandros Kotskar (Fr., Voula, Greece)


Paco Palacian (Fr., Seattle, Wash./O’Dea)

High School: Member of swimming team at O’Dea High School for all four years… earned Outstanding Freshman Award… events swam included the 50 freestyle (personal best of 22.89), 100 free (49.97), 200 free (1:49.79), and 100 butterfly (56.10)… named First Team All-Metro.

Personal: Majoring in Sports Management and Marketing… minoring in Innovation and Creativity… son of Lisa Johnson and Carlos Palacian.


Parker Wilk (Fr., Sanford, Fla./Seminole)

High School: Member of both water polo and swimming teams at Seminole High School… coached by Ryan Ackerson.

Personal: Majoring in Mechanical Engineering… son of Rynda and Thomas Wilk.
