ERIE, Pa. — The Grove City College women’s water polo team concluded the first weekend of Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III-East Region play by dropping a 17-13 decision to Connecticut College at Penn State Behrend. Grove City finished the weekend with a 2-1 league record.

Senior Reese Trauger (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) fired in a season-high eight goals to help pace Grove City. Senior Tia Kannel (York, Pa./Central York) and freshman Kiley Sill (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) each scored twice. Sophomore Kamryn Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) also scored for the Wolverines.

Kerr, Sill and Trauger all tallied two assists. Trauger also led the defense with six steals.

Freshman Lea Steen (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) stopped nine shots in goal.
