BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has released its Men’s Water Polo Rating Percentage Index (RPI) numbers for games through November 11.

The Rating Percentage Index is the measuring stick by which the NCAA Men’s Water Polo Committee compares, rates and slots the teams for the National Championship at the conclusion of the season for the play-in and final championship site games.  For cost purposes, the NCAA Championship Committee retains the right to place teams into play-in games irregardless of the RPI numbers when appropriate.

Each team’s RPI number is based on a number of factors to come up with an adjusted number to rank the teams:

  • Record versus non-Division I opponents
  • Record versus Division I opponents
  • Division I winning percentage
  • Strength of schedule
  • Opponents’ strength of Schedule
  • Road success
  • Road RPI
  • Normal RPI
