BALTIMORE, Md. — No. 15-ranked George Washington University made the most of its midweek road trip to Division III No. 9 Johns Hopkins University by securing a 13-7 victory in Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC)-East Region action at the Newton White Aquatic Center.

Andras Levai tallied three goals, five assists and three steals to help the Colonials improve to 14-4 overall and 5-1 in conference play.

GW erased an early deficit with a run of six straight goals to take a 7-2 lead on Gabriele Simonti’s goal with 5:45 left in the second quarter.

After Johns Hopkins ended the opening half with back-to-back goals, the Colonials put the game out of reach by outscoring the Blue Jays 5-1 in the third. Jordan Blosser’s goal with 14 seconds remaining in the period gave the Buff and Blue their largest lead at 12-5.

Levai set the pace as he has much of the fall, pushing his team-leading point total to 95. Blosser also scored three times, including the 100th goal of his career.

Simonti posted a pair of goals, while Atakan Destici notched a goal and three assists. Andrew Mavis, Nick Schroeder, Henry Maas and Chris Lee recorded scores in the victory, as well.
