BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Princeton University alumna Ashley (Hatcher) Guapacha was a guest on the Shozda Show podcast in February 2023. She discusses her playing experience prior to college, at Princeton and with the Argentina National Team.
A 2015 graduate of Princeton and native of Miami, Fla., she was a member of the Tigers’ 2012, 2013 and 2015 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championship teams. During her time at Princeton, Hatcher compiled 202 goals, 67 assists, 85 steals and 16 field blocks over the span of 135 games for the Tigers.
Following a freshman season in 2012 which saw her compile 26 goals, six assists, 21 steals and 16 ejections drawn to aid Princeton in claiming the program’s first league crown in women’s water polo since 2000, she compiled 37 goals, 12 assists, 17 steals, six field blocks and 13 ejections drawn in 2013 as Princeton repeated as conference champion.
On the heels of a junior season in which she racked up 53 goals, 27 assists, 28 steals and 20 ejections drawn to aid Princeton to a runner-up finish at the CWPA Championship, she returned to the water in 2015 to claim All-CWPA First Team recognition for helping to its third league crown in four years with 86 goals, 22 assists, 19 steals and 23 ejections drawn.
