BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Halina Santos (Sr., Gilroy, Calif./Christopher) racked up 10 goals, 11 assists, eight steals and three field blocks with five ejections drawn during a 2-2 weekend for No. 6-ranked San Diego State University “A” at the final Women’s Collegiate Club Southwest Division regular season tournament. For her efforts, Santos is named the division’s March 2 Player of the Week.
Competing at Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz., she opened the weekend by scoring six goals in a 14-3 defeat of the University of California-San Diego “B” before tacking on a solo marker in an 11-10 loss to the host Sun Devils on Saturday, February 28.
Facing No. 2 the University of California-San Diego “A” and the University of Arizona on Sunday, March 1, Santos scored once against the Tritons (10-6 L) and three times facing the Wildcats (12-3 W) as SDSU “A” concluded a 5-3 regular season mark and locked up the No. 3 seed for the upcoming Southwest Division Championship on Saturday-Sunday, April 11-12, at home in San Diego, Calif.
