SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The University of Notre Dame seeks teams for a women’s collegiate club water polo invitational tournament, The Irish Invitational, during the weekend of February 24-25, 2024.

The team is excited by this opportunity to host an invitational tournament again this season. Our hope is to provide an opportunity to a number of teams to come to South Bend and compete in at least four games over the course of the weekend. The tournament will be a round robin format with a premium being placed on pairing teams that may not get a chance to play one another on a regular basis. If enough teams register to run the expected format, the fee for the weekend will be $500 for those who confirm and send checks prior to January 8 and $600 for those that enter after that date. Should the team get more interest than the allotted pool time allows to accommodate the number of games, preference will be given to those that respond earliest (check received), and those who have hosted Notre Dame (for non-Collegiate Water Polo Association events) at their pool in the past, followed by CWPA Club member institutions.

If the entry fee is a barrier for a team to enter the field, the Notre Dame women’s club team requests the team reaches out.

All competition will take place in Rolf’s Aquatic Center on the University of Notre Dame campus. Rolf’s offers a 25M-meter, all-deep facility with floating goals. It is the site of many CWPA regional championships as well as the 2016 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship. A separate warm-up area and balls will be provided.

Notre Dame’s campus is located less than 100 miles from Chicago, for those contemplating a longer trip. Preferred hotel and travel information will follow for those who confirm.
