ERIE, Pa. — The Washington & Jefferson College women’s water polo team improved to 4-6 overall and 3-0 in Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III-East Region competition by taking down Utica University, 11-3, in league competition at Penn State Behrend.
The Presidents used a big second half scoring differential to coast to the victory. After leading by a 3-2 margin at halftime, W&J outscored Utica by an 8-1 margin in the second half.
Sydney Neumann (Long Beach, Calif./Millikan) finished with a team-high four goals in the win. Ryley McClellan (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) notched a hat-trick with three goals, while Mekkiye Ergun (Chicago, Ill./Lake View) finished with two scores.
McClellan has now totaled 34 goals in just 10 games overall this season.
