Special Schedule Notes
- The tournament is not seeded by ability, since there is no equitable means to determine the respective strength of the teams. Too few teams play outside of their division schedules to create an accurate seeding. Match-ups are therefore based upon the 2022 National Collegiate Club Championship results by division.
- The teams are seeded based edon a policy voted in during the 2008 Annual Meeting. The seeding rule states: The top eight division winners will be seeded according to their division’s finish the prior season. Places No. 9 and 10 are be reserved for the top two division runner-ups in order of their division’s finish (due to their being 14 divisions eligible in 2023, only one division runner-up is chosen). The remaining places will be filled with the divisions according to their division’s finish the prior season, with random draws used to break ties in placing. Due to this the Sierra Pacific Division runner-up claims the No. 9 seed with the Rocky Mountain/Mid-Atlantic and Atlantic/North Atlantic Champions being seeded based on a random draw between the divisions that tied for 13th and 15th at the 2022 championship.
- The New York Division Champion claims the No. 15 seed due to the New York Division not competing at the 2022 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship. However, Syracuse University declined the bid and it is awarded to the runner-up from the Southwest Division. Due to the Sierra Pacific and Pacific Coast Divisions already having two teams in the field, the third place division from the a year ago advances its runner-up into the championship field.
- Teams listed first wear dark caps and are home on the scoreboard. The host team always wears dark caps and is listed first on the scoreboard regardless of seed.
