Southwest Division Schedule Notes
As of Friday, October 19th, the league office was notified that Arizona State University would not be eligible to travel to the San Diego State University weekend on October 20-21, 2018. We are confirming if the school was not allowing the to travel or if this was a team decision. Based on the reason, the team may or may not be eligible to compete the remainder of the season. An update and division wide vote will take place the week of October 22nd.
As of Friday, October 5th, the league office was notified by ASU Administration that school will be able to host the weekend of October 6-7 at Arizona State University. Games will be played at the Sun Devil Fitness Complex (400 East Apache Blvd., Tempe, AZ 85281). The parking structure directly across from the complex will be charging but free parking is available at the parking structure located on the corner of Rural Road & Lemon Street. Please review the schedule as game times will be starting slightly later Sunday. The facility will be open at 9:00AM on Sunday for warmup.
As of Friday, September 28th, the San Diego State University weekend hours have been revised and confirmed. Please be sure to review your team’s game times as there was a revision of start times and the order of games.
Teams play every opponent once within the division and two additional games are selected at random.
During the division conference call, teams voted in favor of only counting six of their eight regular season games towards seedings for championship. It was determined that when a team plays another team twice during the regular season, the first match will be considered exhibition while the second match will count towards their league record. This was discussed due to an interest in fairness when drawing the random selection of the additional games.
Additionally, the Southwest Division is hosting the National Collegiate Club Championship on November 9-11th at the University of Arizona. As host, Arizona will automatically qualify in addition to the division champion. If Arizona wins the division crown, the runner-up will also be selected to go to nationals.
