Scholar-Athlete Team

The Collegiate Water Polo Association selects a men’s and women’s Scholar-Athlete team during the year.  Unlike the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) team which is exclusively for varsity athletes, the CWPA team is open to all league members, both varsity and club.

To be selected, student-athletes must be active participants on the team and a full-time student at the institution which nominated them. Active participation includes the requirement to have played in at least one league game during the season. Freshmen through graduate students are eligible for the award.

Nominees must achieve a 3.2 cumulative Grade Point Average or higher based on the most recent grades (fall semester for men, spring semester for women).

Student-athletes were recognized in three levels: 3.2 to 3.4 (Excellent), 3.41 to 3.7 (Superior) and 3.71 to 4.0 (Outstanding).

In addition, varsity and club teams with cumulative GPA’s at or above 2.75 are recognized by the conference for overall excellence.
