BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — 174 women’s collegiate club athletes were nominated for the 2022 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) 2022 Women’s Scholar-Athlete Team.

Previously named the All-Academic Team, the program honors student-athletes who have achieved grade point averages of 3.2 or higher and competed during the 2022 women’s season.

Overall, 114 athletes were honored with Outstanding (3.71-4.0) recognition, while 40 earned Superior (3.41-3.7) and 20 were recognized with Excellent (3.2-3.4) accolades.

The follows totals of 372 (2020), 152 (2019) honorees, 198 (2018) and 311 (2017) nods over the past several years.  A 2021 list was not compiled due to the COVID-19 pandemic preventing competition.

To be selected, student-athletes must be active participants on a team and a full-time student at the institution which nominated them. Active participation includes the requirement to have played in at least one league game during the season. Freshmen through graduate students are eligible for the award.

Nominees must achieve a 3.2 cumulative Grade Point Average or higher based on the most recent grades.  Team honors are presented to programs that matched or exceeded a 2.75 overall GPA.
