BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — 181 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) competitors are among 859 student-athletes to earn 2024 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic honors.
The CWPA institutions (Augustana College, Austin College, Brown University, Bucknell University, Carthage College, Connecticut College, Grove City College, Harvard University, Macalester College, Penn State Behrend, Princeton University, Saint Francis University, the University of Michigan, Washington & Jefferson College, Wheaton College) combine for 86 Outstanding (4.00-3.71), 67 Superior (3.70-3.41) and 28 Excellent (3.40-3.20) accolades.
In addition, 14 CWPA schools are among 63 schools to surpass at 3.0 team grade point average. Macalester (3.77), Connecticut (3.73), Harvard (3.70) and Brown (3.67) rate second (tie), fourth (tie), seventh, and eighth, respectively, in the nation for GPA, while Wheaton (3.63) comes in 14th.
Saint Francis (3.48, T-30th), Carthage (3.45, T-33rd), Michigan (3.45, T-33rd), Princeton (3.44, 36th), Grove City (3.34, T-46th), Penn State Behrend (3.34, T-46th), Augustana (3.31, T-49th), Bucknell (3.31, T-49th) and Austin (3.21, 58th) complete the CWPA institutions earning team laurels.
Among all schools, the California Institute of Technology (3.78) posted the highest team GPA with the 63 schools combining for an average GPA of 3.46.
