THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — Goalkeeper Colin Weaver (Jr., Huntington Beach, Calif./Mater Dei) and Jack King (So., Los Altos, Calif./Menlo School) of Division III No. 8-ranked the Massachusetts Institute of Technology join Emerson Sullivan (Gr., San Anselmo, Calif./Sir Francis Drake) of Division III No. 5 Johns Hopkins University on the 2022 USA Water Polo Division III Collegiate Water Polo Championship All-Tournament Team released following the conclusion of the event’s championship game at California Lutheran University’s Samuelson Aquatics Center.
Weaver concluded the two-day championship on Saturday-Sunday, December 3-4, with 10 saves, 20 goals against and eight steals in 65:36 of work as the Engineers fell to Division III No. 1 Cal Lutheran (17-7 L) and claimed a 9-6 defeat of Johns Hopkins in the Third Place game. His best game occurred versus JHU as he stopped eight shots with six steals and six goals allowed on Sunday, December 4.
King added three assists and a pair of steals – including an assist and two steals versus Johns Hopkins – to also claim All-Tournament recognition.
Sullivan notched six goals, an assist, five drawn exclusions and a steal for the Blue Jays as Johns Hopkins fell to Division III No. 2 the University of Redlands (18-6 L) on Saturday, December 3. Facing MIT on Sunday, December 4, he notched five goals, an assist, four drawn kickouts and a steal as he factored in all six of the JHU’s goals in the Third Place game.
