BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The University of California-Los Angeles and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges remain at No. 1 in the National Top 20 and Division III Top 10 rankings as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the official 2024 Men’s Varsity Week 11/November 20 National Top 20, Division III Top 10, Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Top Five and Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Top Five Polls.
Defending MAWPC and NWPC champions Fordham University and Princeton University also remain steady as the Rams and Tigers once again top their respective league rankings.
Voted on by a panel of coaches, the polls are compiled and released on Wednesday during each week of the season through the week following the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship.
2024 Men’s Varsity National Top 20 (Week 11/November 20)
The University of California-Los Angeles continues a reign at No. 1 in the 2024 Week 11/November 20 National Men’s Varsity Top 20 Poll.
UCLA (100 points) leads a Top 10 which experiences some shifts as Stanford University (94 points) holds on at No. 2, while Fordham University (88 points) acquires company at No. 3 from the University of Southern California (88 points).
University of the Pacific (80 points), Princeton University (73 points) and the University of California (71 points) continue at No. 5-to-7, respectively, heading into the conference championship weekend.
The most significant change in the Top 10 occurs at No. 8 as the University of California-Irvine (58 points), Long Beach State University (58 points) and Pepperdine University (58 points) create a three-way tie for the position to complete the first half of the Top 20 rankings.
The University of California-San Diego (51 points) and the University of California-Davis (46 points) slip to No. 11 and 12 due to the rise of Long Beach State.
San Jose State University (44 points), the University of California-Santa Barbara (37 points), Harvard University (30 points), California Baptist University (24 points), Santa Clara University (21 points), Brown University (14 points), Loyola Marymount University (10 points) and the United States Naval Academy (7 points) retain their rankings from the Week 10/November 13 poll to round out the Top 20.

2024 Men’s Varsity Division III Top 10 (Week 11/November 20)
Pomona-Pitzer Colleges continues at No. 1 in the 2024 Week 11/November 20 Men’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll.
Pomona-Pitzer (98 points) – which rated as a unanimous No. 1 selection last week – defends its top position by the smallest of margins as the Sagehens stave off the University of Redlands (97 points) by a single point.
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (87 points) and Chapman University (85 points) break at tie at No. 3 to acquire the No. 3 and 4 spots, while California Lutheran University (82 points) hangs on at No. 5 for another seven-day run.
Whittier College (76 points) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (70 points) march on at No. 6 and 7 with the University of La Verne (61 points) and Occidental College (60 points) exchanging the No. 8 and 9 berths. Johns Hopkins University (26 points) completes the Top 10 by retaining the final position.

2024 Men’s Varsity Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Top 5 (Week 11/November 20)
Fordham University – which claimed the 2021, 2022 and 2023 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Championships – remains on the path to a potential four-peat as the Rams continue to top the 2024 Week 11/November 20 MAWPC Top Five Poll.
The poll experiences two changes from last week as the Rams (100 points) maintain their prior position, while George Washington University (93 points) takes over at No. 2 from the United States Naval Academy (92 points).
Wagner College (83 points) and Bucknell University (82 points) complete the Top Five as the Seahawks and Bison exchange the final two positions.

Four-time Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) champion Princeton University remains a unanimous top selection in the 2024 Week 11/November 20 NWPC Top Five Poll.
The 2018, 2021, 2022 and 2023 NWPC Champion Tigers (100 points) continue to hold a five-point margin compared to 2016, 2017 and 2019 NWPC Champion Harvard University (95 points).
Brown University (90 points), Iona University (85 points) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (80 points) round out the Top Five at No. 3-to-5.
