BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — A total of 212 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) student-athletes were honored on the Spring 2021 CWPA Scholar-Athlete All-Academic Team.
Divided into three teams based on cumulative grade point average, league members garnered 83 Outstanding (4.00-3.71), 96 Superior (3.70-3.41) and 33 Excellent (3.40-3.20) honors as 17 institutions submitted nominees for the team.
In addition, 15 schools earned team honors led by Brown University (3.68) and Connecticut College (3.68). Macalester College (3.67), Utica University (3.64), Princeton University (3.58), Harvard University (3.57), Augustana College (3.56) and Austin College (3.51) rated above a 3.50, while Saint Francis University (3.47), Bucknell University (3.42), Carthage College (3.38), the University of Michigan (3.37), Mount St. Mary’s University (3.36), Penn State Behrend (3.32) and Grove City College (3.24) also broke the 3.0 plateau to garner accolades.
To be selected, student-athletes must be active participants on a team and a full-time student at the institution which nominated them. Freshmen through graduate students are eligible for the award.
Nominees must achieve a 3.2 cumulative Grade Point Average or higher based on the most recent grades at the time of competition.
