BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez Campus (UPRM), student association Tarzanes Water Polo Club (TWPC), in collaboration with the Asociación y Fundación Alumni Colegial, will be hosting the Tarzanes Water Polo Club First Invitational Tournament at the UPRM Natatorium from Friday-Sunday, May 25-27, 2018. Tournament will have six men’s teams and up to four women’s teams. Teams can be either club or varsity from the Collegiate Water Polo Association.
The tournament will be held in excellent facilities (https://www.facebook.com/natatoriorum/) with a swimming pool dedicated to water polo with all the equipment necessary.
Details of the tournament follow:
- Dates: May 25-27, 2018
- Location:University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus, Natatorium, Mayagüez, Puerto Rico.
- Schedule: Games can run from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Friday and Saturday) with finals on Sunday. Final itinerary will be published when all the teams have confirmed.
- Number of teams:Up to six men’s teams and up to four women’s teams.
- Important dates: March 15, 2018 (statement of intent to participate); April 1, 2018 (final payment date)
- Number of games.We expect to run up to 10 games per day, and all teams will be guaranteed to play at least four games.
- Tournament fee: $300/team to be paid through the Asociación y Fundación Alumni Colegial at the link: http://www.uprm.edu/cms/index.php/page/2915. Payment can be with credit card or via pay pal.
- Transportation: Teams will make their own transportation arrangements to either Luis Muñoz Marín Airport in San Juan (SJU) or to Aeropuerto Internacional Rafaél Hernandez (BQN) in Aguadilla (about 40 minutes from Mayagüez). There are direct flights from major cities in the US. Teams may rent a van at the airport.
