ERIE, Pa. — The Lakers of Mercyhurst University return 10 student-athletes and welcome seven freshmen and one transfer for the upcoming season. Within those returning 10 players, Lakers return three of their top scorers, including Daniel Alvarez, Ryan Witoslawski and Alex Cappuccio.

Alvarez led the team with 40 goals and 56 points last season. Witoslawski had 38 points and 28 steals while Cappuccio recorded 30 points and grabbed 24 steals. Head coach Curtis Robinette says, “these seniors have a great opportunity to lead our team in and out of the water this year.”

Also returning for Mercyhurst is goaltender, sophomore Nash Greeven. He played in every game last season while finishing with 184 saves in 24 games. Greeven also led the team with 56 steals.

Joining the Lakers this season are Dylan Shaffer, Jacob Tanner, Derek Kagen, Reed Bearden, Luke Tanner, Teagan Thomas, Paul Goddard and Conor Cross Duncan.

“We’re excited to welcome all of these great guys! They will all make an immediate impact this season from every position in the pool,” said Robinette.
