LOS ANGELES, Calif. — No. 5-ranked the University of Southern California topped Saint Francis University, 22-6.

Leading 11-3 at halftime, the Trojans did not slow down their offensive attack in the second half. USC outscored Saint Francis 4-2 in the third quarter and added seven goals in the fourth quarer. Caylah Olay (Redondo Beach, Calif.) scored with 46 seconds remaining in the game to make the score 21-6 prior to a man-up strike tacking on the final margin.

Down 6-0 in the first quarter, the Red Flash got on the board with 33 seconds left in the opening eight minutes as Megan Marlin (Flower Mound, Texas) found the back of the net.

Early in the second quarter, Olay tallied a goal to keep the score within six at 8-2. However, the Trojans continued to pull away prior to a marker by Emese Szucs (Budapest, Hungary) closing the gap to 11-3 entering halftime.

Both of the Red Flash’s third-quarter goals came in the first three minutes of the frame. Sarah Hartwell (Grand Blanc, Mich.) tallied the first goal of the quarter prior to Olay denting the twine with just over five minutes remaining in the frame.

Olay led the Red Flash in scoring with three goals, while Olay and Szucs both earned an assist in the game.

Georgia Ellison (Canberra, Australia) and Olay each recorded a steal.

Isabel Lumley (Brisbane, Australia) took the loss with six saves in three quarters.  Grace Raquel (Naperville, Ill.) took over in the fourth quarter and stopped one shot.
