SHERMAN, Texas — Lauren Olivier has been named Austin College’s new head men’s and women’s swimming coach.

A 2023 graduate of Austin she most recently served as an assistant swim coach for Racine United School District in Racine, Wisconsin, as well as an assistant coach for the Carthage College women’s water polo team.

“We are excited to welcome Lauren back to Austin College,” said Director of Athletics David Norman.

“Her understanding of Austin College and her experience as a Division III student-athlete make her an outstanding fit for our program and our athletics department. Lauren’s passion and respect for the ‘Roos swim program and for the sport of swimming will help her build on a strong foundation and lead the Austin College swim teams to further success.”

Olivier excelled both in the pool and the classroom as a dual-sport athlete during her time at Austin. Her name appears in the ‘Roos swimming record books three times, being part of record-setting teams in the 200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay, and 400 medley relay. She was also a member of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Academic Honor Roll, as well as being named All-America as a member of the ‘Roo women’s water polo team following her senior campaign.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead the Austin College Swim program,” said Olivier. “As a former swimmer of Dan Snow, this program holds a special place in my heart. Honoring its proud history, I look forward to building on traditions and helping our student-athletes excel in all aspects. Returning to my alma mater is incredibly meaningful, and I deeply appreciate the encouragement and support from everyone involved. Go ‘Roos!”

Olivier was a dual major at Austin College, earning degrees in Business Administration and Kinesiology, and received her master’s degree in Sport Management from Carthage this past Spring.
