GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Tristan Hollon-Brooks (Gr., Marietta, Georgia) and Ignacio Hurtado (Jr., Madrid, Spain) combined for seven goals to share Player of the Game recognition for leading host/Florida Division Champion/No. 4-ranked the University of Florida to a 15-8 victory over Great Lakes Division Champion/Division III No. 1 Washington University in St. Louis on the second day of the 2024 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship at Florida’s Ann Marie Rogers Swimming & Diving Pool in the O’Connell Center.
Florida will return to the water at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, November 10, against Atlantic Division Champion/No. 19 the University of Virginia in the Fifth Place game looking to add either a Fifth or Sixth Place mark to a legacy that includes prior placements of Eighth (2000), Third (2001), 11th (2002), Ninth (2003), Fourth (2008), 13th (2009), Third (2011), 12th (2017), 10th (2018), Sixth (2019), 10th (2023) and Second (2024) at the Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship.
The 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 Division III Collegiate Club Champion, Washington will seek to take the Seventh Place game at 9:00 a.m. against Texas Division Champion/No. 11 Texas A&M University. Historically, the Bears have claimed prior Third (2021), Fourth (2022) and Sixth (2023) Place marks at the Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship after electing to bypass the Division III Club Championship prior to the 2021 campaign.
