CAMBRIDGE, Mass./PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Iona University men’s water polo program wrapped up the program’s 2024 regular season by going 1-2 on the road during Saturday-Sunday, November 9-10, with a win at Division III No. 7-ranked the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), 15-10, on November 10 to go along with losses at No. 19 Brown University, 17-9, on November 9 and No. 15 Harvard University, 20-11, on November 10. The Gaels finished the regular season with a 11-13 overall record and 5-6 in NWPC action.
Freshman Pavle Musikic led the Gaels with four goals versus MIT after scoring a hat trick in the opening quarter before being kicked out with three exclusions. Luksa Vlasic also recorded a hat trick in the win.
In the loss to Harvard, the Maroon & Gold kept it close in the first half, with the score being two-all after the first quarter and entered the halftime break down two goals, 7-5. The second half is where the Crimson took over, outscoring the Gaels by a 13-6 count on the way to a victory.
