BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Maya Nanayakkara (Jr., Dallas, Texas/Marcus) of the University of Texas “A” accounted for 14 goals, nine assists, a field block and a pair of steals during a 2-1 weekend for the Longhorns at the 2025 Women’s Collegiate Club Texas Division Championship hosted in Houston, Texas, by Rice University. For her performance, Nanayakkara earns recognition as the March 31 Women’s Collegiate Club Texas Division co-Player of the Week.
She shares the award with Avery Davis (Sr., Jersey Village, Texas/Jersey Village) of Texas Division Champion/No. 12-ranked Texas A&M University “A”.
She helped Texas “A” defeat Texas “B” (5-0 W Forfeit) and Texas State University (12-6 W) to earn a spot in the division title game versus Texas A&M “A”. Facing the Aggies for the Texas crown, she punched in second and third quarter goals as the Longhorns took a 9-5 loss to finish as the division’s runner-up.
