BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Brown University assistant coach Jake Ehrhardt scored four times and Bucknell University head coach John McBride served as an assistant coach for USA Water Polo Men’s National Team head coach Dejan Udovicic as Team USA claimed Eighth Place at the World Aquatics Men’s World Cup Division 1 Tournament on January 6-12 in Bucharest, Romania.

The event is a qualifier for the 2025 Water Polo World Cup Super Final with the top six finishers earning a spot in April.  Due to finishing outside the top six, the United States failed to qualify for the World Cup finals later this year.

All games were streamed in the United States via Recast PPV on the World Aquatics website with live scoring available courtesy of World Aquatics.

The United States opened competition by defeating Japan (19-17 W, January 6) and host Romania (10-7 W, January 7), but dropped contests versus Montenegro (15-7 L, January 10), Croatia (15-6 L, January 11) and Georgia (17-12 L, January 12).

Ehrardt accounted for pairs of goals versus both Romania and Georgia.
