PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University Director of Water Polo and Head Coach Felix Mercado announced the institution’s 2025 men’s water polo schedule.
Brown is scheduled to hots 16 games this season before the Bears will also host the Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Championship on Friday-Sunday, November 21-23.
“I am very excited for our 2025 season,” said Mercado. “We have put together a great non-conference schedule, both home and on the road, to help us get ready for league play and the Championships this fall.”
The Bears will start the season hosting the Bruno Classic as Brown welcomes Gannon University, Wagner College, Bucknell University and University of the Pacific to Providence on August 30-31. Brown will also host a non-conference weekend on September 20-21 against Connecticut College, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, Chapman University and Johns Hopkins University. The Bears host part of the Harvard Invitational with games against George Washington University, Wagner College and Salem University on October 18-19.
Brown’s first trip out west will be on September 12-13 when the Bears play the United States Air Force Academy and California State University-Fullerton in Fullerton and Loyola Marymount University and the University of California-Santa Barbara at LMU. Brown will again take part in the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament with games against California Baptist University and host Santa Clara University on October 24-25.
Conference play starts for the Bears on the road with games at Long Island University and Princeton University on October 4 and Iona University on October 5. Brown then returns home for league games on October 11 against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University.
Brown will travel to MIT and Harvard on November 1 and the remaining three league games at home will be November 8-9 as the Bears host Princeton, Long Island and Iona. The Bears will make a trip to Fordham University on November 15 in the regular season finale before hosting the NWPC Championship.
